Petch Orchards
Apple Picking, Cidery and Family Activities
For four generations, the Petch family has been growing apples, pears and plums in the idyllic countryside of Hemmingford, in the heart of the Montérégie West region, less than 45 minutes south of Montreal. Founded in 1920 by entomologist Charles Edgar Petch, Petch Orchards is now recognized as one of the leading agrotourism destinations in southern Quebec.
Spanning more than 115 acres, the orchard grows over 40 varieties of apples, including heritage and popular varieties such as McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Cortland and Spartan, all produced with a strong commitment to quality and environmental stewardship.
In addition to apples, visitors can enjoy pick-your-own pears, plums and pumpkins throughout the season. Petch Orchards offers a complete family-friendly agrotourism experience combining local food, outdoor activities and authentic countryside charm.
During the season, visitors can enjoy:
- apple, pear, plum and pumpkin picking
- a corn maze
- a family-friendly petting zoo
- outdoor picnic areas
- a farm shop featuring local products and homemade specialties
- their famous fresh apple juice and apple donuts
- artisan ciders produced by Cidrerie et Distillerie C.E. Petch
Families can relax and picnic peacefully while children explore the orchard activities and meet the farm animals. The orchards, local products, scenic landscapes and seasonal attractions make every visit a memorable experience in the Hemmingford region.
Open from summer through late fall, Petch Orchards is a proud stop along the Circuit du Paysan and one of the most popular agrotourism destinations in Montérégie.
