Certified Organic Natural Wines on a Rare Burgundy-Level Terroir

Founded in 2004 by Isabelle Ricard and Normand Guénette — former industrial designer and landscape architect turned passionate vignerons — Vignoble Le Chat Botté sits on one of Quebec’s most exceptional wine terroirs: a unique calcareous loam soil (pH 7.4) at the foot of the Adirondacks, on the ancient bed of the Champlain Sea, enjoying the same growing degree-days as Burgundy, France. The vineyard’s 6 hectares of vines have been transitioning to certified organic production since 2020 and carry the IGP Vin du Québec designation.

Award-winning since its first international competition in 2012 (gold for straw wine at the International Cold Climate Wine Competition), the range now includes 15+ products: crisp mineral whites, orange wines, ancestral-method natural sparkling wines, luscious straw wines, rosés, reds, and ciders. A guided tasting at the boutique reveals the full personality of this rare terroir, complemented by local charcuterie and cheese platters.

Terrace, dogs, and groups always welcome. Open spring through fall. Wines available at the boutique and SAQ.

Whether you’re ready to explore our full range or share the experience with a group, Vignoble Le Chat Botté offers approachable, unpretentious tasting options — so you can discover the flavours of Hemmingford entirely at your own pace.

4-wine package Mix and match four wines from our selection of dry and sweet varieties — whites, rosés, reds, and specialty wines (grapefruit rosé, late harvest, straw wine) — $12/person

Group package (8 or more guests) Travelling with a group? Book ahead and we’ll dedicate a team member exclusively to your experience for a private, guided tasting. All wines are estate-grown on our unique calcareous terroir in Hemmingford, at the foot of the Adirondacks. Available at the boutique and at select SAQ locations.
